What does Xenos mean?

Xenos is a Greek word from the Bible that meant "traveler," "sojourner" or even "foreigner" or "alien" in the sense of living away from your home country. The idea is that Christians are "away from home"— their eternal home with God and are on a journey. Xenos also has an interesting connection with the concept of hospitality. When the Greeks combined phileo (love) with xenos (stranger) it meant "loving strangers," those outside your family, circle, or clique. At Xenos Christian Fellowship, we aim to welcome and care for people who are "outsiders" to Christianity—strangers to faith in Jesus Christ, rather than exclude or condemn them.
